Probiotic Soda Citrus Mint (Printer-friendly)

A sparkling drink with homemade probiotic base, citrus juices, and fresh mint. Refreshing and gut-friendly.

# What You'll Need:

→ Probiotic Base

01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

→ Flavoring

05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices
09 - Ice cubes

# Directions:

01 - In a thoroughly clean glass jar, mix cane sugar into filtered water until fully dissolved. Incorporate water kefir grains or ginger bug and lemon juice, stirring gently with a non-metallic spoon.
02 - Secure the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter and a rubber band. Leave at ambient temperature (68–77°F) for 24–48 hours, until the liquid develops a mild effervescence and tanginess.
03 - Remove kefir grains or ginger bug by passing the liquid through a fine mesh strainer. Either discard the grains or retain for future use.
04 - Transfer the fermented base into a pitcher and add orange juice, lime juice, and mint leaves. Stir gently to integrate flavors.
05 - Fill individual glasses with ice cubes, pour mocktail over, and adorn each with a thin orange slice and additional mint, as preferred.
06 - Present immediately to ensure optimal carbonation and freshness.
