Recipe FAQs

What type of cheese works best?

Brie with rind removed offers a creamy texture and mild flavor that melts beautifully inside the pastry cups. Camembert or goat cheese can be used as alternatives.

Can I use homemade cranberry sauce?

Yes, homemade cranberry sauce is ideal for controlling sweetness and texture, but store-bought cranberry sauce works equally well.

How should the puff pastry be prepared?

Thaw frozen puff pastry before rolling it out on a floured surface. Cut into squares and gently press into a greased mini muffin tin.

Are there any suggested garnishes?

Fresh rosemary or thyme and toasted pecans or walnuts can be sprinkled on top before baking to add aroma and crunch.

What is the baking temperature and time?

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 13-15 minutes until the pastry is golden and cheese has melted.
